According to leaks, Anthropic reported a $42B net loss in 2025. This was revealed as Anthropic is preparing a massive IPO and even bigger investments in AI infrastructure. How worried should we be about the AI bubble bursting?

Honest question from someone that's not onto investing nor these companies. $4.6B of 2025 revenue explodes into $11.5B in a single quarter in 2026. mapped to a year, that's equivalent to a $46B of revenue for 2026; which is 10x from 2025, and it offsets the $42B loss. That is napkin math, and also probably wrong for reasons I'm not even interested…

Anthropic warning investors of existential risks to humanity in its IPO prospectus reveals a staggering contradiction at the heart of Big Tech. Spending 80 pages detailing AI self-preservation and deception while seeking a $2tn valuation is reckless. Why sell stock in end-times tech? (1/2) 🤔 # ClimateCrisis https://www…

Anthropic says its AI models could pose a "catastrophic or existential risk to humanity" and can "resist shutdown," according to an initial public offering prospectus obtained by Reuters.

I think it’s absolutely insane that we all grew up on the books/movies that predicted this and what happens next and we still keep rushing forward. Even most people are complacent. You sit there and say “omg flock cameras” “omg tv is spying on us” and you get “who cares, the phone in your pocket already does that”. Most people have simply accepted…

When we create some new technique, it's pretty common for improvements using it to follow an s-curve. There's an initial period of things getting exponentially better as we figure out how best to take advantage, until you hit the limit of that technique. Then, you have to wait till the next breakthrough idea. We've had a tremendous amount of…

31x isn't that high given the growth - and look at SPCX ... it's currently at 69x P/S. Re: top 2 customers made up 24-25% of revenue in FY25. They likely make up significantly less than a tenth of that now. Of the $42B net loss, $34B was deferred charges from previous financial years, not losses in FY25. Amodei is a total POS and Anthropic is…

My thoughts too. Anthropic and open Ai are not here to stay. They are too broad. They essentially offer everything in one service which is an incredibly bad business model. Subscribe for everything… someone using ai for specific things subscribes for 99% he doesn’t need. While he would pay the same for a specialised service . Smaller businesses…

The issue is that you can't build superintelligence with the technology they use for LLMs.. It's just not possible.. It's a token prediction machine.. It doenst think in the way would need to create superintelligence... They are or will be hitting the ceiling of what's possible with LLMs sooner than later.. Open Weight models will catch up and…

Except there's no reason at all to imagine their future earnings would be anywhere near what they'd need to justify that valuation. The 'medical residency' hypothetical isn't a great analogy in this case. It would be more like the doctor is already working, but their practice is failing.

Swe for 25 years. 100% agree with you. I think there is a bit of collective psychosis and a lot of boosters and bots pushing it. The guys take was more balanced than others I have seen to be fair, but I get sick of seeing that same thing being said in about 3 different variations.

By complex I mean tasks required by Software Engineers in today's world. I'd say about 99.99% of those tasks can be done by AI correctly and efficiently with the right context. I manage a large team of exceptional engineers and have clearly seen the efficiency of AI as a tool.

Do you not realize they are past $65B Run Rate now and will likely finish the year near $100B run rate which equates to only 20x revs for the fastest growing company in history in what might become the biggest market in history You need to look at forward revenue multiples

the problem though, that would be like saying you are shorting plastics because its this un-natural, un-healthy material that we are over using and needs to stop. so he's shorting the plastic sector. but the problem is, plastics are now everywhere, used in all devices.

Look at Amazon's price to sales or enterprise value before it became profitable in 2003. Ignoring the peak before the crash, there were many profitable buy opportunities with crazy valuations, because a well run company in a new market can make it worth it.

I remember when Reddit ipo'd and everyone thought it was insane.. not the best example. what's the percentage of rddt holders that are underwater at this point after it tanked at the beginning of this year? rddt isn't remotely comparable to meta.

Asking for accurate numbers and facts has been a bad thing as long as the AI craze has been going on lol. The executives at these companies and the hyperscalers have been acting like those questions are taboo for multiple years now

Their ARR was $65B in July, $47B in May and apparently $76B in September. They are expected to reach $100B ARR end of year. But of course Redditors want to spread misinformation. They made $11B last quarter alone in revenue.

Totally get that. I’m personally looking for a major breakthrough in the medical sphere sometime soon - I don’t really give a shit about AI either way but if it’s actually going to cure cancer, say, why wouldn’t we fund that

honestly, up has been down for a while now. every time i see something that should be 100% devastating- market goes the opposite way. i would say hedge on gold, but even that isnt at a price i understand. run, do not walk.

the other option is someone who also wants Samaritan from "Person Of Interest" and named his company after evil scrying orbs from LOTR. AND he believes he is a good person because he is competent and that is enough.

Sci-fi has dealt with this concept decades ago, long before manga became a big thing lol. One of the most famous silent movies, Metropolis, is arguably about creating a machine god, and having it serve the elite
