I think the one big upside would be a change in New York law. An activist friend in New York says two entities have been impeding improving the law in the legislature: Old Guard lawmakers who think men are getting railroaded, and... public defenders, who generally seem to oppose almost anything that could increase incarcerations.

Airing everything out in a high visibility court case is probably the next best thing. Laws should always carry a high bar, so the court of public opinion is meant to act in a more dynamic way. A case just allows the public to have all the info so people aren’t inclined to make dangerous assumptions

Do you know how many people buy a property, say it will be their primary residence to get better terms, then rent it? It’s an easy target. Political targeting.

NY Gov Hochul appoints AG James as special prosecutor into Cornell PD and Tompkins County DA. This is a criminal investigation. And the Hammer of Thor. Maybe men in power protect rapists because they don't think it's wrong and are part of rape culture. https://www. governor.ny.gov/news/statement…

allegations beyond criticism. The university conducted its own investigation and imposed disciplinary sanctions. Prosecutors have now reopened the criminal investigation, and Cornell has agreed to an independent review.
