🚨 @andyburnham’s admission that Russia interfered in the 2016 referendum changes the political and constitutional debate, even if it does not automatically undo Brexit in law. For years, the government’s formulation was that it had seen no evidence of successful Russian

I should add, that clip from a @cnn.com interview is from 2022, when @carolecadwalla.bsky.social won a case against pals of Russia. The revelations weren't followed up back then, PM Burnham just acknowledged tat there was Russian interference in the brexit vote.

That is interesting how you frame a single news headline from just one day which is more immediate and urgent than the colossal history summarized inadequately above on the UK relationship to the EU, which says more about the human perception tendency than a logical evaluation of the weight of contribution and volume of factual evidence available…

You don't know there was propaganda. We don't know the method, meat or bones to what Burnham is saying Unless we're told what exactly was the meddling, statements like these are fairly pointless. If you take a recentish European election like Georgia, both sides (as in Western Europe and Russia+friends) both seemed to try and influence the vote by…

Andy Burnham is the first prime minister to publicly state that the russians interfered in the Brexit referendum. "It's important to clearly put these things on the record now, and I believe it helps voters in Germany and France to understand that some of this politics is instigated by our enemies, the russians." https://www…

You say that, but then you react to the mere acknowledgement that Russian interference happened by accusing the speaker of trying to delegitimise the vote. Andy Burnham wants us to rejoin. Everyone knows that, he's not denied that. You don’t need to delegitimise the vote itself in order to make that case, and nothing he has said so far has…

Finally, a leader admits the blatantly obvious. I wonder how much longer before charges of treason can be brought against perpetrators who've been hiding in plain sight all along. # Brexit # RejoinEU https://www. theguardian.com/politics/2026/ oct/11/andy-burnham-russia-interfered-brexit-vote

Nah it's because the report's conclusions don't fit the media agenda, and it's also embarrassing for all parties across the political spectrum. The TL:DR; is that Russia funds both sides in an effort to sew division. They don't want one side or the other to "win", and if they do support something (like Brexit) they immediately try to mess it up as…

Whats different to what Labour tried to do when the US were having their elections, sending people from Labour party over to canvas for Deomcrats? No, we are learning today that the government line is that Russian interference didn't impact the Brexit vote outcome. See the minister quoted in the article So it doesn't seem like Russian interference has had lasting effect on us from any of these votes Which makes it all the stranger that Burnham has completely by coincidence raised the spectre…

U.K. Prime Minister Andy Burnham confirmed Kremlin involvement in his country's 2016 referendum on leaving the European Union, the Observer newspaper reported on Oct. 11. I’m thrilled they did. Because it was a complete waste of their time and effort and cash. I hope they really spent loads of all three. Given the decades of EU bashing in the UK, I’m only surprised it wasn’t a clearer majority. Perhaps they reduced the win….. P.S: for context I voted against leaving. The EU isn’t perfect by any means but fancy…

That's it. I've been learning a lot about it over the past 18 months. Turns out there's quite a lot of research on it from a mix of academics, government and military sources. Lots of weird sub-topics like information laundering and AI poisoning that I'd not ever considered before.

The minister talking head they had on Radio 4 Today programme was asked simply "what evidence is there?" He spoke for about three minutes and couldn't come up with anything. At least brief the idiot ministers before they are asked questions. It's embarrassing.
