He was hurt. Maybe not even if he was healthy though. If Riley didn't understand the playbook as well as Rivers there is no reason to put him out there. QB is so much what you do before the game. Guys like Vince Young can find some success being illiterate and not knowing the playbook but you're trying to develop a QB not instill bad habits.

last year was the first year he didn't just go "fastball lol" and instead actually worked on aim.....Apparently he was just so good at just being a powerhouse, no one ever thought to give him direction. ....that's absolutely wild. I responded to a similar comment already: I realize they can roll it over, they could probably get the Colts to pay for some of his salary. Some players need a change of scenery to mature and develop. If it works out the Jets have a QB of the future for a 7th round pick, if it doesn't that have a top 2 pick in the draft next year.

Richardson's career is over. He doesn't have the mental game needed. He doesn't know how to prepare. He keeps fumbling shotgun snaps at camp. Either snaps are errant or his vision may still be fucked from his accident last year.

the whole offseason Most of his money was a roster bonus due the third day of camp. So if you wanted him, it made sense to wait for Indy to pay that. Now that he costs just $1,145,000, perhaps Indy can swing a trade.

Throwing a ball far isn't talent, its strength. He cant put the ball where it needs to go. Yeah, sometimes he throws it to the right spot by pure luck, but if he chucks it enough times, its gonna hit eventually.

He was excellent for one year on a pretty great FCS team. He did not play against top teams, he threw the ball a total of 300 times. It is insane that he was drafted where he was.
