Europe is on the move. The first major fallout from Musk's ill-advised decision to cut off Starlink access for the Ukrainians—a service contracted and paid for by Europeans... 👉 EU 🇪🇺 telecom companies to be allowed to join forces to compete with Elon Musk's Starlink EU

Ukraine’s Starlink access has been restricted without warning, adding to growing confusion about whether the United States has begun limiting intelligence and military aid to Ukraine.

KYIV POST: Zelensky Says Starlink Was Switched Off During Russian Attacks – ‘That’s Their Decision’ https://www. kyivpost.com/post/87091 Zelensky said Starlink restrictions during Russian attacks were deliberate, warning that disrupted communications weakened Ukraine’s air defenses and cost civilian lives. US lawmakers from both parties condemned…

It breaks my heart to say that, and it is a serious question but... Is this the beginning of the end of this war? I hope someone will pull a trick to help Ukraine but since the end of the summer it seems like most political decisions are going in the favor of Russia ( Trump buying Russian oil, USA stoping to sell air defence to Ukraine, Starlink…

This drives home the point that depending on US companies for anything means you have to bow and pay tribute to the US regime or else they'll cut you off, even if the company itself doesn't want to. The US is currently an authoritarian regime without law.

Ukrainian officials suspect that Trump ordered Elon Musk to throttle the country's access to military-grade Starlink terminals. The suspicions, which haven’t been confirmed, underscore the extent to which the U.S.-Ukraine relationship has soured in recent weeks as Trump has sought an end to the war.

Elon Musk now claims it is Trump who has restricted Ukraine's use of Musk's satellite internet. If that is true, a NATO partner is now preventing Ukraine from leveraging a key technology against the Russian invasion. Please ask Secretary General Mark Rutte, if a NATO partner can side with the enemy and still remain a NATO partner.

Which part? The federal funding for research and development? The federal funding for satellite launches? The federal funding for Starlink rollout domestically and to strategic partners? The federal research for space flight that underlies all SpaceX rocket, satellite, and communications technologies? The federal funding and research for…

RE: https:// masto.ai/@ukraine/117442055836 065442 Let's be clear. As of right now use of the higher 'velocity' (over 160 kph) version of Starlink called StarShield, owned and operated by the US government, is still cut off. Ukraine's ability to intercept high speed incoming weaponry (drones and missiles) is handicapped. Ukrainian people will…

They never said that. The security assurances of the Budapest Memorandum were: Respect each other's sovereignty. Refrain from attacks or threats of attack. No economic coercion. Seek out the UN security council if conflict arises. Don't use nuclear weapons. Further, these were "assurances" not garauntees. Assurances aren't binding.
-
If American tax dollars funded Starlink only congress should determine when & where it should be turned off. Anyone who turns it off should be deported.

The Washington Post reports that U.S. officials threatened to halt *all intelligence sharing* if Ukraine keeps striking Russian energy sites. Ukrainian forces report sudden military Starlink restrictions, but Kyiv is still assessing the cause. https://www. washingtonpost.com/world/2026/…

What happens if some future US military mission is say, counter-insurgency in Sudan and Elon decides "hmm, this isn't a priority the US government should be focusing on, no service for you"? This is even a good argument for the US government to develop their own equivalent capability since NASA will always jump when told to

Every person on here is forgetting starlink is not for weapons. Starshield is. Spacex has no control over Starshield.

The small techbros that loves musk and musk products are definitely emotionally stunted and having some form of empathy deficiency. Every single one I've met has been gleefully bragging about how smart Trump and Musk are, and how they're investing everything into SpaceX and Nvidia and shit.

What does musk have to do with space shield? He doesn’t control it

And that's how he gets rich. If he didn't have all these government contracts both domestic and abroad, he would be worthless and definitely not a trillionaire. Only getting taxpayer dollars is his entire business, even though he's never turned a profit.

It was Starshield with spacex does. It control. The pentagon does

A Congressman reacts to reports that Star Shield—the military version of Starlink—was throttled during critical operations in Ukraine. In fact it would be absolutely insane if the U.S. Government's contract with any service provider allowed the service provider to, at its whim, disable the service. Let alone a contract with the fucking DoD.

As a former military officer who worked on military business continuity/continuity of operations, including for the Joint Staff and Defense Intelligence Agency, it's almost criminally negligent that Ukraine placed all its "eggs" in one "basket" owned by a billionaire with suspicious ties to Putin.
