My parents watched the X-Files when I was growing up, and the two episodes I remember them letting me stay up and watch were Jose Chung and the Cops crossover.

Not sure if corny is the word but the main character has plot armor of a 24th century warrior attacking a stone age village. Still a decent show and that episode was incredibly well done.

Exactly. The original question is if there’s an episode of tv that you loved watching but didn’t feel compelled to see the rest of the series. OP has picked an episode they loved that they wished the rest of the series was about, though they watched the rest of said series anyway

The work outing from The IT Crowd (S02E01) is regularly considered as one of the greatest episodes ever in a sitcom in the reddit circles. I think it also stands by itself quite well, without needing to really know the context of the earlier season.

The Nightman Cometh. A buddy of mine used to put on random episodes of it’s always sunny and this was probably the first episode i ever watched. Have probably watched 10 or fewer full episodes of the series but this first one stuck with me.
