building a reactor is 1/10 the problem, the real issue is long term storage of nuclear waste, where the cost would skyrocket, even outsourcing it to uk or france would have astronomical costs as we are not capable of transporting it.

Thats a design problem, I.e those plants were build without accounting for (understandably) such severe climate change. There are other cooling solutions.
