NBC poll: Donalds, Moody lead Florida races despite Trump's underwater rating
A new NBC South Florida/Telemundo survey shows Republicans ahead in Florida's governor and Senate races, but finds Hispanic voters drifting away from Trump.
What to know
- Republican Byron Donalds leads Democrat David Jolly 48%-41% in the Florida governor's race; Republican Sen. Ashley Moody leads Angie Nixon 50%-40% in the Senate race.
- Florida's influential Hispanic voter bloc appears to be shifting back away from Trump after his significant 2024 gains, even as GOP candidates hold leads among Hispanic voters this cycle.
- Trump's statewide job approval is underwater (45% approve, 49% disapprove), and the poll is cited as evidence that Democratic 2026 momentum seen elsewhere has limits in Florida.
- Cost of living/inflation (30%) is by far the top issue for voters, ahead of immigration enforcement (16% overall, 12% among Hispanic voters) and property taxes.

Poll finds Hispanic voters shifting back away from Trump
Despite GOP leads overall, the poll shows Florida's Hispanic voters — including Cuban, Nicaraguan, Honduran and Colombian populations — moving away from Trump since his 2024 gains, with his statewide approval underwater (45% approve, 49% disapprove) and cost of living cited as the top issue.

So my parents live in a very conservative area in Ohio. And the ads that I experience versus what they experience is a true dichotomy. Just straight manipulation and the vast majority of voters are going to take those ads as truth and not do their own actual investigation to determine their own truth.

What nonsense. Half of the boomers wrote the laws and protections that Republicans are repealing.
